“Skip New UAE COVID-19 Protocol” – Toyin Olajide to Clients. By Daisy BARRO

The Management of Air Peace recently informed its clients on its Lagos-Sharjah (UAE) flights that they are exempt from applying one of the current COVID-19 protocols put in place by Dubai Airport’s Operations Control Center.

According to sources, the new protocols – which are to be implemented as from February 01, 2021 – stipulate that only Nigerians travelling directly from Nigeria will be allowed into Dubai International Airport. Again, passengers are expected to undergo rapid COVID-19 tests at the airport 4 hours before their scheduled departure time. This testing will occur in addition to COVID-19 PCR testing that last 72 hours.

In a statement to media persons, Mrs. Toyin Olajide, Chief Operating Officer of Air Peace informed Air Peace clients that they are exempt from applying the protocol that demands that passengers undergo a rapid COVID-19 test at the airport 4 hours before departure.  Instead, they should present their 72 hours before departure COVID-19 test result.

In her own words, “We wish to draw the attention of our guests who intend to travel to Sharjah-Dubai with Air Peace that they are not expected to undergo rapid COVID-19 test at the airport 4 hours before departure, as indicated in the new Emirates COVID-19 protocols. They are expected to submit their 72 hours before departure test result.”

She concluded by reiterating that Air Peace passengers flying this route are exempt from this particular protocol because firstly, Air Peace operates direct flights to Dubai, and secondly, Air Peace passengers are already expected to submit COVID-19 test results 72 hours prior to their departure time.
