Airport Revenues Experience Growth Despite Tough Times - Gittens.

Angela Gittens, DG, ACI Airports Council International (ACI) has released the 19th edition of the Airport Economics Report which covers an in-depth analysis of industry revenues (aeronautical and non-aeronautical) and costs (operating and capital). Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World, said: “In the face of the ongoing uncertainties in the global economy, global airport revenues remained resilient through the downside risks that have persisted across the world’s markets.” She added that; “Airport revenues experienced sound growth rates in 2013 compared to the previous year. Safety, Infrastructure & Security Remain High Priorities As IATA Calls for Deeper Partnership with Governments

Members of the Outgoing Board of Governors  Miami, June 8, 2015: The International Air Transport Industry (IATA) has advocated for an even deeper partnership with governments based on global standards in the critical areas of safety, infrastructure, security, regulation, and environment. Tony Tyler, IATA’s Director General and CEO, said: “Aviation is built on partnerships and the relationship with governments is key. Airlines and governments are well-aligned on safety. But in other areas of government responsibility—infrastructure, security, regulation, and environment—there are opportunities for a deeper partnership.” The call came in Tyler’s Report on the Air Transport Industry to the 71st IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, which is currently being held in Miami. This year some 3.5 billion people and 55 million tonnes of cargo will travel safety by air over a global network of 51,000 routes. Airlines directly employ 2.5 million people
