Onyema Wins Aviation Executive of the Year at Abuja Air Show - By Daisy BARRO

Barr. Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace Limited, was recently conferred with the "Aviation Executive of the Year" award at the inaugural Nigeria International Air Show held from December 2-4, 2025. The accolade, bestowed by Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofamata, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, underscores the CEO's transformative stewardship of West African aviation.

Under Onyema's visionary leadership, Air Peace has evolved from a nascent startup to the largest privately-owned carrier in West and Central Africa, catalyzing economic empowerment through job creation and expanded connectivity. The airline's robust domestic and regional networks have bridged previously underserved cities, while its international ambitions have re-established Nigeria's global aviation presence. Notably, Air Peace became the first Nigerian airline in decades to launch direct services to London, operating Lagos–London Gatwick and, in 2025, Abuja–London Heathrow.

His unwavering commitment to excellence, safety, and growth has reshaped Nigeria's aviation identity, demonstrating the carrier's competitiveness against international peers on long-haul routes. The award honors his sustained efforts to uplift Nigerians through employment opportunities, enhanced connectivity, and heightened global visibility.
