Model Dreamliner on display at Air Show Festival
Kenya Airways expects its first Dreamliner in 2014
NAIROBI DECEMBER 20, 2013– Aviation enthusiasts will this weekend get an opportunity to experience the Boeing 787 Dreamliner during the Kenya Air Show Festival, ahead of its expected delivery to Kenya Airways in 2014.
A model of the aircraft has been set up at the Wilson Airport in Nairobi, the event that is billed as the largest festival of its kind in Africa, for enthusiasts to experience its unique features.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft that will be delivered to Kenya Airways is one of the nine that it has placed an order for.
“We are excited about the expected delivery of our first Dreamliner 787 next year because it will enable us to continue delivering a world class experience to our customers. This aircraft has exciting features that will deliver an unrivaled customer experience,” Dr Naikuni added.
During the Kenya Air Show Festival, Kenya Airways will also be showcasing its modern state-of-the-art fleet during the Kenya Air Show Festival that will be held at the end of the week as part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Kenya’s Independence.
Aviation enthusiasts will also get an opportunity to view the airline’s recently acquired Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft, which is the largest on the fleet, has a capacity of 400 passengers and can carry over 20 metric tonnes of cargo.
Additionally, Kenya Airways’ Embraer E190 jet will be amongst featuring in the amazing air display which will also include the Kenya Air Force, South African Air Force, helicopters, skydivers and a raft of private and commercial pilots.
According to organizers of the Kenya Air Show Festival, the Aero Club of East Africa, about 20,000 aviation enthusiasts are expected during the two day festival that has attracted key players in the aviation industry.
