Air Peace Gifts KNOSK School CBT Centre and Full Scholarships - By Daisy BARRO

In a powerful display of corporate social responsibility, Air Peace—the nation’s flagship carrier—has made a transformative donation to the KNOSK (Knowledge, Skill and Kreativity) 100‑Naira‑a‑Day Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja. The contribution marks the first time a major Nigerian corporate entity has supported the school since its establishment in 2019. The donation is already reshaping the learning environment for the school’s 180 students, many of whom come from families that can barely afford the symbolic ₦100 daily fee.

The airline’s support addressed critical needs at KNOSK, a school that has consistently defied odds—boasting a 100% WAEC pass rate for its inaugural graduating class and several students scoring above 200 in JAMB. With the national shift to Computer‑Based Testing (CBT) for major examinations, Air Peace funded the procurement of laptops and related equipment to establish a dedicated CBT centre. This digital upgrade not only equips students for upcoming exams but also introduces them to essential computer literacy and coding skills.

Beyond infrastructure, Air Peace provided one‑year scholarships for 20 students, covering the ₦240,000 annual tuition fee. The gesture has been a lifeline for families struggling to meet educational costs. Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, SS3 student Patience Omuata expressed gratitude: “It really means a lot to us because our parents might not be able to afford the school fees. May God continue to bless him and keep him.” SS1 student, Vivian Odizwe, added, “Seeing that there is a high probability that next year, WAEC will be CBT, the school needed 40 laptops and you have given us more to reach that number. With this, we can practice, write our exams, and learn other digital skills. We appreciate it so much.”

Air Peace’s Communications Analyst Hawa Oyinloye Alege shared the airline’s pride in supporting the initiative: “We are so, so proud to support this project, a place where determination, hope, and hard work are persistent. We look forward to seeing them achieve great and amazing things in the future.”

The partnership holds historic significance for KNOSK. Cofounder Kingsley Bangwell remarked, “We have received support from the embassies of Ireland, Finland, and the United States. But we had never seen a major Nigerian corporate body step forward. Air Peace has broken that notion. Their donation is not only financial support; it is validation.” He added that the airline’s involvement has become part of the students’ success story, helping transform lives from struggling to read and write to achieving distinctions and high JAMB scores.

Founder Irene Bangwell highlighted the symbolic value of the airline’s chairman as a model of courage for the children, noting his reputation as one of Nigeria’s bravest entrepreneurs. She expressed hope that the students would emulate such boldness in their own pursuits.

The donation is a continuation of Air Peace’s humanitarian legacy. The airline has a track record of aiding Nigerians in crisis—from evacuating stranded citizens during xenophobic attacks in South Africa to supporting communities in need. More recently, on May 27, Air Peace partnered with Raising Star Africa to assist children with disabilities through education grants and resources, underscoring its commitment to inclusion and empowerment.

The KNOSK school, founded to provide quality education to children from the poorest households, now stands as a beacon of what collaborative effort can achieve. With Air Peace’s intervention, the school not only gains technology and scholarships but also a renewed sense of hope that their dreams are valid and attainable.
