Ghana's aviation sector is mourning the loss of Marwan Traboulsi, founder and CEO of Air Ghana, who passed away on September 30, 2025, in the United Kingdom. Born in Accra to the late Amin and Sybil Traboulsi, Marwan was a visionary entrepreneur who transformed Ghana's agricultural and aviation sectors through innovative ventures. He co-founded FARMEX, an agricultural company that developed mango and pineapple plantations into an international export brand, and established Air Ghana in 1993 to expand opportunities for air cargo exports of perishable produce and other goods to Europe. Marwan's impact on the aviation industry was significant. He spearheaded the creation of the Ghana Airport Cargo Centre (GACC) at Kotoka International Airport and introduced Swissport Ghana, a leading global airport handling company.
