NCAA DG Congratulates Aliu On His New Appointment

The Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Folaleye Akinkuotu, has congratulated Dr. O. B. Aliu on the occasion of his recent appointment as President of the ICAO Council for the next three years. “On behalf of the Management and staff of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), I wish to express our profound congratulations to you on your election as the fifth President of the International Civil Aviation Organization Council (ICAO),” he said in a statement issued by the Authority.
Capt. Akinkuotu noted with excitement that: “We are very proud to be associated with your success and achievement in the Aviation terrain as you emerged the first black African President of the ICAO Council in the almost 70-year history of the specialized United Nations aviation agency.”
He added that: “While the agency is responsible for the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention) and the over 10,000 international civil aviation standards contained in the convention’s annexes, we are especially elated that you were appointed from NCAA where you were our pioneer Director of Air Transport Regulation (DATR).”
The DG did not fail to acknowledge the invaluable support of the Federal Government and the tactful display of diplomacy of the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah which contributed in no small way to make the appointment a reality. “In addition, I want to congratulate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah whose efforts were pursuant to the transformation agenda and tacit support made this feat possible,” he concluded.
