974 Aviation Professionals Graduate from Ethiopian Aviation University - Daisy BARRO
Ethiopian Aviation University recently celebrated a significant milestone with the graduation of 974 students in various aviation and hospitality fields.
The ceremony, held on May 3, 2025, at the university's premises, was attended by distinguished guests, ambassadors, airline executives, and the graduates' families. The students specialized in several fields, including aircraft maintenance, pilot training, cabin crew, commercial operations, and hotel operations.
The graduates represented diverse nationalities, including various African countries and international students from China, Congo, Mozambique, Cameroon, Gabon, Zambia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Sierra Leone. Notably, 614 of them were female, while 360 were male. This diversity highlights the university's ability to attract students from across the continent and beyond, and its commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the aviation industry.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, congratulated the students, expressing confidence that they would excel in their future careers. He emphasized the university's commitment to being a center of aviation excellence, serving the continent and beyond.
The university has proudly graduated over 20,000 aviation professionals from Ethiopia, across the continent, and beyond over its nearly 70 years of establishment. With its rich history and experience, it has established itself as a leading institution in aviation training and education.
The university's programs are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the aviation industry. From certificate and diploma courses for pilots, aircraft maintenance, and cabin crew, to undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields like Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, and Tourism & Hospitality Management, the university offers a wide range of programs to suit different needs and interests. With its rapid expansion, Ethiopian Aviation University now delivers comprehensive training programs in Addis Ababa, Hawassa, and Dire Dawa.
Currently, the university has the capacity to enroll around 4,000 students annually, and under the airline's robust "Vision 2035," it envisions accommodating around 7,000 students in the years ahead. This growth highlights the university's unwavering dedication to shaping the next generation of aviation professionals across Ethiopia and beyond.
