EgyptAir Boss Urges Youths To Aim For Excellence - By Toyin OSHODE

The General Manager of EgyptAir in Lagos, Mr. George Wadie has called on Nigerian youths to aim for excellence in their various academic pursuits in a bid to become eminent leaders of tomorrow. He made the call during a courtesy visit to the airline by a contingent comprising of winners of the recently concluded 6th National Travel Essay Competition (NTEC 2014/15) in the company of their parents and siblings.
Mr. Wadie congratulated the winners for their exceptional performance and urged them to keep up the good work, adding that EgyptAir chose to sponsor the travel industry writing contest because it tallies with the airline’s vision of investing on future generations in an effort to help contribute to the growth and development of the aviation sector in the country while encouraging research, industry awareness and healthy competition among the youths.

Mr. Ewos Iroro, Editor, Travel & Business News and Founder of NTEC who led the contingent to visit the General Manager expressed gratitude to the airline for being a reliable partner in progress that has supported such a laudable initiative consistently for six years since inception of the contest in 2009. “We remain ever grateful to EgyptAir for this mutually beneficial partnership that has grown over the years into a close bond that has positively affected the lives of over Sixty (60) Nigerian youths.”

Mr. Wadie proceeded to present winners of the competition with tickets to various destinations on the airline’s network. Miss Blessing Halim, a student of Princeton College, Surulere came 1st and went home with the Grand Prize of a Free Ticket to Dubai and Discount Tickets for her family. In 2nd place was Emmanuella Kyllians, a student of Murtala Muhammed Airport Secondary School (MMASS), Ikeja who went home with a Discount Ticket for her and her family to any destination on the airline’s network. The 3rd position went to Oluwapelumi Afolabi, also a student of MMASS and she won for herself a Discount Ticket for her and her family. They were each also presented with assorted corporate gift items to go with the tickets.
NTEC is a Future Workforce Development Initiative (FWDI) of Travel & Business News and is geared towards RAISING FUTURE AVIATION PROFESSIONALS in an effort to bridge the skills gap and address the challenge of ageing workforce currently being faced in the sector. Hence, it is a Human Capacity Development and Succession Plan Initiative for the air transport industry in Nigeria which has been supported consistently by EgyptAir for the last six years.
