United Nigeria Airline Prepares for Inaugural Flight - By Daisy BARRO

 

It is with great excitement that the staff of Nigeria’s latest airline – United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) – prepares to have its inaugural flight tomorrow Friday, February 12, 2021. The move comes after UNA received its Air Operators’ Certificate (AOC) yesterday from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as proof of having fulfilled all regulatory requirements.

According to sources, the inaugural flight will be executed with the airline’s  Embraer 145 aircraft, which is to take off from the domestic terminal – Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MM2) at Ikeja, Lagos and terminate at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, the airline’s operational base. The flight is then expected to take off from Enugu to Abuja and finally touchdown again in Lagos.

For now, regular routes/daily flight destinations for the operator will be Lagos, Abuja, Asaba and Enugu; with Owerri and Port Harcourt expected to follow in the near future.

  Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 It was with relief that Bi-courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), recently took delivery of new x-ray machines and air conditioners, in line with the Operator’s plan to make MMA2 safer and more comfortable for its clients. In a statement released on Friday by BASL Group’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Mikail Mumuni, it was revealed that the equipment, which was imported from the United States arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) – Lagos on Wednesday night and was then transferred to MMA2.
