“N375 Million Chopper Hull Claims Settled” – Daniel Braie. By Daisy BARRO

Wreckage of a helicopter belonging to Quorum Aviation that crashed into a building in Lagos last year.

Linkage Assurance Plc has settled the hull claims linked to the Quorum Aviation chopper that crashed last year in Lagos. This development was made known to the public recently by the insurance company during an event with members of the Lagos Area Council – a branch of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).

According to Linkage Assurance’s Managing Director (M.D), Daniel Braie, the company had already completely insured the chopper involved in the accident. In his own words, “Linkage insured 100% of the helicopter that crashed last year in Opebi, Ikeja – Lagos, and has settled the hull claim of N375 million.”

Mr. Braie went on to divulge that the underwriting firm is about to finalize the payment of the passenger liability claim of $300,000 for the three people who lost their lives in the regrettable incident; $100,000 each, in line with global aviation insurance standards.

The M.D continued by appreciating the brokers for their support to the insurance company, saying that the company’s goal for 2021 is to strengthen the relationship between the firm and its partners in order to keep satisfying their clients.

“Linkage Assurance Plc recognizes the pivotal role of the brokers’ community in the growth of any insurance business. That is why we decided that apart from hosting the national body, we will go a step further to host the various Area Councils across the country. So far, we have done this in Abuja, Kaduna, Port Harcourt and now Lagos. If not for the COVID-19 pandemic that broke out last year which affected businesses all over the world including Nigeria, we would have covered more states”, Mr. Braie said.
