The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance), a key ground handling service provider in West Africa, has announced the signing of a series of contracts with prominent airlines for comprehensive handling solutions. The agreements, disclosed in a statement following the public holidays, include renewals with European carriers Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic, as well as African operator RwandAir. NAHCO Aviance has equally secured new contracts with United Nigeria – Regional, Bellagio, and Malaikair. The contracts with Air France and KLM are set to run for three years, expiring in 2028. The agreement with Virgin Atlantic also spans three years, while RwandAir's contract will be effective for three years starting October 1, 2025. Air Peace Limited has strongly refuted allegations that it sold tickets to Jamaica and subsequently "dumped" passengers in Barbados, describing the claims as misleading and inaccurate. The airline asserts that all tickets were sold in accordance with international airline sales practices and applicable aviation regulations, with no evidence of deceptive sales or intentional misleading of passengers. According to a statement by Air Peace, during pre-departure checks at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, it was discovered that some passengers lacked required transit visas for travel via Antigua to destinations including Jamaica as well as Trinidad and Tobago. The airline says it offered affected passengers a full refund, with some opting for rerouting through Barbados, where Nigerian passport holders do not require transit visas.
