Galaxy A57, A37 Introduced to UNA Passengers Through Samsung Partnership Program - By Daisy BARRO
United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) recently distributed Samsung Galaxy smartphones to selected passengers on Monday, June 1, 2026, as part of its ongoing “Awesome Row” collaboration with Samsung. The carrier, one of Nigeria’s leading domestic operators, executed the activation across Lagos–Abuja and Abuja–Lagos sectors, targeting enhanced customer experience through onboard engagement.
Three travelers, Hamid Ibrahim, Chidi Chinedu, and Gbenga Bello, were identified as recipients via an in-flight randomized selection conducted during the flights. Passengers on the affected rotations were also granted exclusive hands-on access to the new Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 devices, with additional winners emerging from the live product demonstration.
Dayo Olawuyi, Chief Commercial Officer of UNA commented on the initiative’s execution and strategic intent: “At United Nigeria Airlines, we fly to unite. Every route we operate, every flight we run, is about bringing Nigerians together, whether for business, work or family functions. This partnership with Samsung is an extension of that mission because they share our belief in delivering the very best to Nigerians, and together, we wanted to create a moment that passengers would never forget. We are very thrilled for Hamid, Chidi, and Gbenga, and we congratulate them on their wins. We are very passionate about ensuring our customers have the best experience, and that is exactly the kind of thing we want people to associate with flying United Nigeria Airlines,” he said.
According to UNA, the present collaboration with Samsung aims to reinforce brand differentiation in Nigeria’s competitive domestic market while underscoring the carrier's passenger-centric service delivery. The “Awesome Row” program equally positions the airline’s cabin as a branded experiential zone, integrating consumer technology engagement with scheduled commercial operations.
