The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) Lagos Zone recently convened a Business Workshop for travel professionals, aimed at equipping agencies with the necessary tools to thrive in today's dynamic market. The session featured a keynote presentation by Mr. Bankole Bernard, Group Managing Director (MD) of Finchglow Holdings, who delivered a practical and insightful session on "Strategic Business Development for Travel Agencies."
Drawing from over two decades of experience, Mr. Bernard emphasized the imperative need for structure, digitization, and long-term thinking in the travel sector. He stressed that digital transformation is the backbone of growth for modern travel businesses, stating, "Intuition has limits. Growth today is driven by data, powered by automation, and sustained by strategic partnerships." His presentation highlighted the critical role of operational efficiency and technology adoption in ensuring survival and scalability.
Through the Finchglow Holdings case study, Mr. Bernard demonstrated how combining structure, strategy, and smart execution can deliver long-term impact. The company's six subsidiaries, spanning business and corporate travel, tourism, education, and logistics, served as a testament to the effectiveness of this approach.
As a foremost voice in Nigeria's travel and aviation industry, Mr. Bernard reinforced the importance of professionalism, a principle he has championed throughout his leadership journey. This philosophy was recently underscored at the 49th NANTA Annual General Meeting, where the NANTA Membership Identification Card was relaunched as a symbol of accountability and industry standards.
He concluded his presentation by emphasizing the need for forward thinking and strong leadership, stating, that the best growth doesn’t come from reacting fast, but from thinking ahead and leading strong.
