Delta Air Lines Supports Student Initiative

Delta Air Lines has showed its support for developing young talents in the country by sponsoring the 5th National Travel Essay Competition (NTEC 2013/2014). The airline gave out a free ticket to the United States as 1st prize for the winner of the writing contest which is aimed at creating greater awareness for the industry at the grassroots level and encouraging young Nigerians to follow a career in the sector as a means of addressing the challenge of skilled manpower shortage and ageing workforce. Miss Karimat Sowemimo, a student of Murtala Muhammed Airport Secondary School, Ikeja emerged winner of the contest and was presented with the ticket during a recent courtesy visit to the airline’s office in the company of members of her family. The airline’s General Sales Manager, Miss E. T. Sefia was on hand to make the ticket presentation and congratulated Karimat for her excellent performance. A delighted Mr. Ewos Iroro, Founder & Coordinator of NTEC, thanked the airline for the kind gesture and called on other well meaning organisations to identify with the initiative.
