Finchglow Holidays, one of Nigeria's leading curated travel and tour experience provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Ethiopian Airlines and Ethiopian Holidays to expand travel opportunities to Ethiopia. This collaboration will enable Nigerian travelers to enjoy expertly curated tour packages that showcase Ethiopia's rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant cities, along with in-country visa facilitation. The deal aims to strengthen aviation and tourism links between Nigeria and Ethiopia, stimulate tourism flows, boost trade opportunities, and enhance bilateral economic relations between the two nations.
Group Managing Director of Finchglow Holdings, Bankole Bernard, highlighted the broader industry impact of the collaboration, stating that the partnership solidifies Finchglow Holidays' prominent position in Nigeria's travel and tourism sector, and reflects its commitment to driving innovation therein. "By joining forces with Ethiopian Holidays, we are delivering fresh, world-class experiences to our clients while contributing meaningfully to the growth and competitiveness of Africa’s aviation ecosystem", he said.
According to Oluwaseun Afolabi, Head of Business at Finchglow Holidays, "Nigerians are now looking for hidden gems, moving away from the regular travel destinations; and Ethiopia offers some of the most captivating yet underexplored experiences on the continent." The partnership will offer thoughtfully curated tour packages, including streamlined visa processing, to remove barriers and enhance access to Ethiopia's diverse tourism offerings.
Firiehiwot Mekonnen, Area Manager at Ethiopian Airlines, emphasized that the airline wants travelers to truly experience Ethiopia, exploring its UNESCO heritage sites, breathtaking landscapes, and rich culture.
The Ethiopian government has also invested in eco-friendly lodges and tourism infrastructure in a bid to showcase its commitment to sustainability. Two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) have been signed: one between Ethiopian Holidays and Finchglow Holidays to provide packages, land excursions, and flights, and another to facilitate the visa process.
The alliance between Finchglow Holidays and Ethiopian Airlines marks a bold step toward redefining African travel, setting a precedent for how African destinations can be marketed, accessed and experienced by tourists looking to explore novel frontiers within the continent.
