DANA Air Aquires B737-500 Aircraft, Soon To Become IOSA Certified - By Ewos IRORO


Dana Air recently resumed its services to Port Harcourt in a bid to give impetus to its services to customers and win their sustained loyalty. Speaking at during the re-commencement of its Lagos-Port Harcourt and Port Harcourt-Abuja service, the airline’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Yvan Drewinsky, said: “We have been doing well in the past few weeks following the recommencement of our flight operations. Our customers have been showing increasing interest and there has been a huge demand by our customers, which has informed the need to bring in these routes. He explained that the inauguration of flight operations to Port Harcourt came on the heels of the recent addition of a B737-500 aircraft to its fleet as well as the successful audit of its entire operations conducted by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Flight Safety Group in partnership with the airline's foreign partners.
Meanwhile, Dana Air is set to undergo and acquire the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) before the end of 2014 in line with its various efforts targeted at boosting its operations and improving its services to customers. The airline's COO revealed that: “The African Union (AU) decided to sponsor 10 airlines towards achieving the certification, and Dana Air has been chosen as one of the companies to be IOSA certified. And so, by the end of the year, we hope to have the IOSA certification through the help of IATA," nothing that, "Dana Air is the only domestic airline to have successfully undergone the operational audit and this reinforces the strict adherence to internationally acceptable flight safety standards.”
